Located in a seventeenth-century wing of the former Jesuit College of São Lourenço, the Museum of Sacred Art and Archeology of the Major Seminary of Nossa Senhora da Conceição do Porto presents a remarkable collection, rich and varied, in a dynamic space of artistic life, open to the community, attentive Conservation and communication of its collection. The so-called "corridor of the slates" is thus, today, an appreciable gallery of religious sculpture from the XIII-XIX centuries. It is precisely in the field of sculpture that the Museum stands out most prominently for the Sala Irene Vilar. But paintings, illuminations, goldsmithery, paraphernalia, religious implements and archeology are also represented with exemplars of excellent quality and interest.
