Rua Sobre Ripas, 3000-395 Coimbra
Good example of the sixteenth century construction of the city, must date from the period between 1514 and 1547. The construction was made probably taking advantage of existing buildings or walls, providing irregularly for several floors in a trapezoidal surface in the approximate direction of east to west. It is divided into two blocks: Casa de Cima or Casa do Arco , and the Casa de Baixo or Casa da Torre. The main artistic features of the Casa de Baixo are the naturalistic Manueline decoration. The main facade is embellished by a small portal but surrounded by large and elegant decor naturalist drawn with true originality.
