In 1837, begins the manufacture of the "Pastel de Belém" in the premises of the refinery, according to the old "secret recipe", coming from the convent. Transmitted, and exclusively known by the confectioners masters that manufacture it by hand, in the " Secret Shop". This recipe remains the same up to today. In fact, the only real factory of "Pastel de Belém" can, through a judicious choice of ingredients, provide today the taste of the old Portuguese sweet pastry.
