The Côa River Valley is a unique place in the world to present artistic manifestations of various moments of Prehistory, Protohistory and History, namely the most important set of paleolithic open air figurations known today. The most important cave art collections are those of Canada do Inferno, Ribeira de Piscos, Penascosa, Quinta da Barca, Fariseu and Faia. It is classified as a National Monument and as a World Cultural Heritage.
